Luna Snow quickly gained a reputation for being one of the most powerful and memorable champions upon the release of Marvel Rivals, despite being one of the lesser known heroes. In Season 8, she continues her reign of terror, dominating ranked games and providing strategist players with their free ticket to climb the ranks. It’s time to master Luna Snow! Here are my top 5 tips to instantly improve your gameplay.
Run Away From Danger!

Is Storm ulting you? Just run away!
Is that big old man swinging his hammer at you again? Just Run Away!
Luna’s ice skating passive ability grants her lots of movement speed if she is moving forwards, it takes a second to kick in but allows her to skate away from impending doom. She can also jump higher in skating form that allows her to reach higher ground and to avoid even more annoying ultimates, yes Jeff … we’re looking at you. Your primary mission with your increased movement speed is to create distance between yourself and your teammates to reduce the potential value that an enemy could score with their ultimate. If you master your movement on Luna, you will find it easy to refrain from ‘Putting On a Show!’ where it might not be necessary.
Avoiding Reloads

I’m clapping! I’m clapping!
But don’t just clap randomly. Make sure you utilise Luna’s Ice Arts as a tool to keep healing your allies, it acts as a free reload! Use all of your primary ammo and activate your Ice Arts ability instantly after the final shot; when Ice Arts expires, your magazine will be magically full again! You’re able to use two entire magazines and your Ice Arts ability without needing to reload. This is a very simple and underrated gameplay adjustment that many Luna player don’t take advantage of as much as they should, this technique should become part of your normal gameplay rotation. Otherwise, those two seconds that you spend reloading could easily spell the untimely death of a teammate.
Self-Sufficient Strategist

K-Pop Idols can heal themselves! Luna doesn’t always need another strategist to keep her alive as long as you juggle your health regeneration efficiently. Luna’s Cryo Heart passive grants her 90 healing per second when she activates her claps and casts her freeze. If possible, try not to overlap these 2 abilities in order to maximise health regeneration if you’re in a situation where you need to keep yourself alive. My teammates often give me a strange look when i try to freeze the wall next to me, but little do they know, I’m activating my magical self healing powers as a strong and independent superhero.
Be Selfish!

Luna Snow is the number one idol, so why can’t she be a little selfish sometimes? Remember to apply your snowflake on yourself to help replenish your own healthbar. Upon healing her allies, Luna also receives a portion of the healing, lots of players forget about this small mechanic. If your greedy tank has 700 health left, rip your snowflake from them and enjoy the extra chill for yourself. Having good awareness of your other strategist’s whereabouts is essential, if they’ve already been eliminated and there is no healthbar nearby, whack that snowflake on yourself like there is no tomorrow.
But wait! Do NOT forget about the secret overpowered damage boost that accompanies the selfish snowflake. The damage boost is elite when Luna is forced to make up for her lazy teammates and wants to solo carry. Hitting a headshot is absolutely lethal with this extra boost; make sure to apply your snowflake on yourself when you freeze an enemy. Luna Snow unironically outputs more damage than a duellist …. as long as you have good aim.
Deadly Combos

When you’re ‘ready to put on a show’, you should also be ready to synergise with your teammates. Combining your 40% damage boost with your teammate’s ultimate generates a crazy amount of damage that is sure to kill through enemy strategist ultimates with ease. A damage boosted Namor whale, Phoenix ultimate or Punisher ultimate can easily shred through a team’s health bars. Thankfully, you only need to swap to your damage form JUST before the damage actually connects, meaning that little healing will be sacrificed for swapping form. Ideally, you should aim to damage boost whenever you’re not soaking up an obscene amount of damage.
If you’re trying to force your team to push or you charged your ultimate incredibly fast, make sure you’re utilising her damage form to actually make a dent in the enemy team’s defences. Otherwise, it’s very awkward to see Luna dancing on her stage in the middle of a teamflight, flashing her lights and giving it her all, but nobody blinked an eyelid …
Good luck on your ranked climb in the new season! I hope you enjoyed these tips!
